A Marriage of Silver Lake Winery, Roza Hills Vineyards and Grapeworks Distilling

Organized in 2021, Roza Estates Wine & Spirits is a merger of three long standing Washington craft beverage businesses, Washington Wine & Beverage Co., Roza Hills Vineyards, and Grapeworks Distilling.

Washington Wine & Beverage Co was formed in 1987 and came know as one of Washington's landmark wineries. It is well known for its Silver Lake Wine brand as well as other brands such as Orca, Brown Box, Girly Girly, Leone Italian Cellars, Glen Fiona and Zillah Peak Wines.

Silver Lake Winery released its first vintage in the Fall of 1989. In the past 25 years, the winery has grown from 200 cases to more than 20,000 cases of hand-crafted wine annually. The winery began as the outgrowth of the passion for wines shared by three professors from the University of Washington and a local real estate investor. In 1994, Silver Lake added 1200 wine enthusiasts who pooled their resources together to make Silver lake the first consumer-owned winery.

 

​Roza Hills Vineyards was acquired in 1997. Originally planted in 1981, Roza Hills has over 235 acres of planted grapes in Zillah area of the Yakima Valley,  Varietals include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Muscat, Cabernet franc, Petite Verdot, and Malbec.

​Grapeworks Distilling was formed in 2013 when it acquired the original facility of Woodinville Whiskey in Woodinville, WA.  Grapeworks began making spirts made from grapes including vodka, aguardiente (pisco), brandy, grappa, and other liquors under the brand name Vitis.

​

Today, all three companies are under one roof in Zillah, Washington. This consolidation now offers a range of wine & spirits made from estate grown grapes with an on-site tasting room to showcase their products with food from their adjacent restaurant, the Terrace Bistro. making Washington Wine & Spirits a truly grape to bottle company.
